Суть в том, что давление в сосуде (как правило, вене), в которую установлен катетер, обычно выше атмосферного, поэтому при хорошей проходимости катетера при снятии защитного колпачка из катетера может поступать кровь и/или кровь можно получить при аспирации при помощи шприца.
