Medical - Medical (general) / FISH analysis of myeloid tissue for genetic anomalies
Italian term or phrase: punti di riunione
I know that punti di rottura are breakpoints on a chromosome at which DNA might be deleted, inverted or swapped, but I cannot find a translation for punti di riunione, which, logically should be meeting/joining/connection points I would imagine, but I can't find anything. This is a document relating to genetic testing for acute myeloid leukaemia. No other background really, sorry.

Thanks, I have found internet hits for this. Not sure why I didn't think of this myself :)

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi Liz, thanks so much for your input on this. Not sure binding sites is absolutely correct in this context as I find hits for rejoining and breakpoints, but not binding. Maybe I haven't looked extensively enough, but I am going with rejoining in this instance. Thanks again, your help is always appreciated.

Asker: I went for "rejoining" as I didn't find anything for "reunion" prior to asking the question.

agree  Nick Pell: rejoining is the most correct, because it appears when a chromosone is broken and then JOINED AGAIN at the same brakepoint. see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNA#Damage in the section genetic recombination
