neutral  Yuejun LIU: 专科 in China means 大专,which is a three-year college ;while a two-year college is 中专 in China.

-> Thanks! As I know, 大专 can be either 2 or 3 years. 中专 is not at college level.

three-year college education

Explanation:
University tuition in Canada has risen dramatically over the last 10 years, and college fees have also increased dramatically. Then there's rent, books and food costs to consider. It's estimated that by 2019, the total cost of a four-year university education will be $74,000 and a three-year college education(专科/大专) will total $45,000.*

Found an example from The University of Liverpool. They say \"Three year college \", which is in contrast to \"Four year college \":

Graduates of three year College/University diplomas – if you hold a three-year College/University Diploma, then you will not usually be eligible for apply for direct entry to our postgraduate programmes. Instead you will need to take a relevant pre-masters preparation year. The University does not currently offer such programmes in Liverpool, but we will consider the programmes offered by other respectable institutions. If you live in Chengdu or Qingdao, you may wish to consider the Northern Consortium Pre-Masters programme, which can give access to the University of Liverpool. For further details please contact the Consortium’s local partner
http://www.liv.ac.uk/international/your_country/china/China....
We can safely say \"persons holding three-year College/University Diplomas ( 获得专科毕业证书者)\".

By the way, I\'m afraid we should not use \"Associate degree\", which is an American term excluding three-year college.

disagree  matias: This term causes ambiguity, because a Bachelor Degree in the British Education System requires 3 years.

-> Thanks, matias. You"re right. Maybe we could say "three-year associate degree".
