Bus/Financial - Business/Commerce (general) / Training
Dutch term or phrase: aquirerend gesprek
This is part of a training course for employees who may deal with customers; they are also involved in selling. I'm wondering how aquirerende fits in here and how to translate it. (I think it probably should be spelled with a c before the q.) I'm guessing that it could relate to the sales aspect(am still deliberating how to translate inkomende and uitgaande, but may post separately).

Telefoontraining; het inkomende, uitgaande en aquirerende gesprek.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

acquisition call
Explanation:
Acquisition call seems to be the appropriate term for a telephone training. In that case you could use 'incoming calls' and 'outgoing calls' for the other two terms.

In order to steadily increase the number of subscribers, acquisition calls are made to non-subscribers.

In other words, I think that what is meant here is a verkoop- or acquisitiegesprek.

relayed call

Explanation:
if it isn't incoming or outgoing, there's not an awful lot left but a customer who is being passed on to someone else (ie. the receiver of "het acquirerend gesprek") (which is preposterous Dutch btw...and begs for you to simply translate this as an acquired conversation ;)

canvassing, acquisitional

"Wat is acquisitie werkelijk, en wat betekent het voor u om deze taken uit te voeren?
- Welke competenties moet u in huis hebben om succesvol te acquireren?
- Hoe bereidt u een acquisitiegesprek voor?
- Hoe bouwt u een relatie met uw opdrachtgevers op?
- Wat zijn de do's en don'ts binnen relatiebeheer, netwerken en acquireren?"

You're right about the c, obviously.

-> Klopt, het is wat Van Dale geeft voor 'acquisitie', maar helemaal tevreden ben ik ook niet. Ik vind Vixen's antwoord beter, maar kwam daar zelf niet op.

sales call, sales cold call

Explanation:
Wouldn't this same as a 'verkoopgesprek', i.e. a sales call? Or a 'sales cold call' if the salesman is starting from scratch? (the latter may be a typical US term, but 'sales call' as such is fairly "universal" English I would say.

http://www.is4profit.com/business-advice/sales-marketing/sal...
"To any business at any stage, sourcing new sales leads and recruiting new customers is crucial. Cold calling potential customers is one way of generating new business. It's a direct marketing method that can also be a highly cost-effective sales tool."

Lot's of other googles where that one came from ;-)

Prospecting call

Explanation:
This is really the same as some of the other offerings.
Incoming call it is obviously someone calling to buy or enquire.
Outgoing call is the company contacting an existing lead.
Prospecting call is where the outgoing call is to an unknown person of company.
This is just my understanding of what might be intended.
