please use metric dimensions and average costs Explanation: ...Guessing - but this seems like a possible candidate. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2009-11-15 18:05:58 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Agree measurements will encompass liquids and gases and is a better term if those are involved in your context. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2009-11-15 18:06:15 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Will also encompass speeds, etc. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2009-11-15 18:11:48 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Dimensions apply to solid objects only but the term "dimensions" is very widely, if not almost universally, used in respect of solid objects (particularly in engineering-related tenders and drawings) in preference to the term "measurements". So one would describe the dimensions of an object rather than its measurements. So it is, in fact, a very concrete term in such a context. IMHO talking about spiritual dimensions when we are dealing with a tender document is a red-herring in this discussion, Jarry. |

Reference: Dimensions and measurements Reference information: Dimension(s): a part of a situation that makes you regard the situation in a particular way e.g. the baby has added a new dimension to their lives; political/social/spiritual dimension e.g. we should not forget that education has an important spiritual dimension; a measurement in space, length, height, etc: a diagram represents things in only two dimensions. |
