English term or phrase: anchoring
Ich habe gerade Schwierigkeiten mit dem Begriff "anchoring" in folgendem, Kontext aus Patentansprüchen:

A photoinduced switching liquid crystal device comprising a cell having substrates provided with deposited silicon oxide functioning as an alignment layer; and a dichroic nematic liquid crystal enclosed between said substrates of said cell wherein the molecules of the liquid crystal are capable of trans- to cis-photoisomerisation by illumination with ultraviolet light, characterised in that the alignment layer of silicon oxide is obliquely deposited and provides two fold degenerate ***anchoring*** conditions, such that under illumination with ultraviolet light the liquid crystal performs an in-plane switching of its optical anisotropic axis with respect to the substrate plane, based on a photoinduced ***anchoring*** transition

Ist das tatsächlich wörtlich zu nehmen, also Ankerbedingungen und Ankerumschaltung oder so ähnlich?
