English term or phrase: less high quality land
Advanced biofuels have lower well-to-wheel GHG emissions (up to 80-90 per cent GHG reduction instead of 40-50 per cent for current biofuels), and lower other environmental effects (erosion, pesticides). In addition, less high quality land is required to produce advanced biofuels due to the higher net energy yield of lignocellulosic biomass.
mockingbird (X)
diperlukan lebih sedikit tanah bermutu tinggi
Explanation:
Kalimatnya kurang tepat dipotong. Seharusnya: less hi-q land is required.

Maka, diperlukan lebih sedikit tanah bermutu tinggi. Artinya, tetap perlu tanah bermutu tinggi u/ produksi advanced biofuel , namun tidak sebanyak X.

X = bisa dilihat dari kalimat2 sebelumnya.

  -> Thanks Mas Hipyan...

agree  John Gare (X): If the meaning was less quality, it would have been "land of lower quality" or just "poorer land". The other clue is the last phrase refering to net energy yield which is usually expressed as yield per hectare: so less hectares required for yield Y.

  -> Thanks John for the "yield" clue; I failed to see as far as you did. :)
