Quando si fotografa al tramonto, l'area del sole rimane sovraesposta, "bruciata": è un disco indifferenziato, senza gradazioni di colore. Io cercherei di renderlo con una perifrasi nel testo.

Usando un obiettivo grandangolare, si può "allargare" di più, evitando che la parte bruciata occupi una porzione troppo ampia del fotogramma.

Explanation:
Ho trovato molte immagini (soprattutto fotografie) dal titolo "Blown-out sun" e descrivono per lo più il tramonto, un sole quasi offuscato dalle nuvole, poco raggiante. Pare proprio essere un sinonimo di "sunset".
