フック留め, ボタン留め/ゴム留め Explanation: In a nutshell, it's a matter of whether the band or pants' waist is elasticized or not. If not elasticized, most of them has to be secured onto the waist by hook(s) or button(s). As you know suspender belt is not somthing popular among womem. If it is made expandable by rubber or similar material, keeping it in place would be much easier. Pull-on designs became popular as they are so easy to wear on and off. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 41 mins (2006-06-07 05:14:35 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Woops, forgot to mention this .... I don't think there is no one-size-fits-all expression for this as it appears that is what you are seeking. These are two opposing type of ways to secure them on the waist. One is completely different from another. So there is no way to lamp them together under one term, I think. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 43 mins (2006-06-07 05:16:42 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- One more thing --- Japanese term for hook is ホック, therefore ホック留め would be more appropriate. |
