Explanation:
cross-section = sectiune transversala intr-un curs, profil etc...
chainage = lungimea parcursa (running) /distanta de-a lungul unui traseu (chain) la care se afla acea sectiune transversala

pe drumurile/traseele din Romania se obisnuieste a se utiliza expresia: "la kilometrul ... +/- ...metri"
