English term or phrase: spend value
I am doing a Dutch-English translation on procurement for a multinational. I keep coming across the phrase 'spend value' and 'total spend value' (in English). I assume it means the amount of money that a company spends on raw materials/services, but I am sure there must be a better English term for this. Does anyone out there know what it is? Lindsay

cost

Explanation:
The simplest meaning I can see in it is "cost".

Googling for "spend value" gets only 325 results, of which many aren't relavant; any standard business concept gets many thousands of hits. Those documents that do contain it aren't translator's works, they're from marketers with over-active Newspeak tendencies...

But it's possible that your client is such a company.

\"expenditure\" and \"cost\" are not exactly the same. Can we see the full sentence or more context?
