camelus camel/ostrich Explanation: doesn't appear to be an abbreviation Camelus dromedarius (camel) and ostrich (struthio camelus) contain the word in their scientific names and they do get mentioned in official documentation quite frequently, both with reference to meat, and the ostrich with reference to avian flu as well. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 14 mins (2006-09-27 15:36:54 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Sorry, that should be: Camel (camelus dromedarius) and ostrich (struthio camelus)... for consistency. |

camelus Critical Aeronautical Material/Equipment List +US Explanation: Hi Mitsuko, If this is for EMC compliance, then my first guess would be that this is the US government's version, or application, of the CAMEL standards. CAMEL (Critical Aeronautical Material Equipment List). http://www.military.cz/accessories/abbrev/c.htm Therefore, CAMEL (+) US HTH! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2006-09-27 19:24:00 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Everyone, Didn't mean to act aloof. Mitsuko's EMC is the acronym for "Electromagnetic Compatibility". |
