Hi!

Does diving mean both swimming under water (free-diving, scuba-diving...) and jumping into the water? If I have both activities in a text, can I use the same word for both?

Thank you for your help!

neutral  Catharine Cellier-Smart: I'm a qualified scuba diver, but I would never refer to what I do as skin-diving (also, as your wikipedia link mentions it's an "old usage dating from before drysuits and wetsuits were commonly available")

-> I guess you use a wetsuit then
