Eisen und Mangan sind im flüssigen Zustand völlig löslich. Jedoch gibt es im Dreistoffsystem Fe-Mn-S eine Mischungslücke, wo es zu **Ausscheidung** von MnS kommt, das einen Schmelzpunkt von 1610 °C hat.
Durch das Legieren mit Mangan wird die Rotbruchgefahr ausgeschaltet, weil MnS sich als primärer Kristall aus der Schmelze **auscheidet**.

Kann man hier mit "precipitation/precipitate" arbeiten?

agree  transatgees: And, in case you are still working out what "Rotbruchgefahr" is, it is called "hot shortness" in the UK. A steel can also be described as "hot short". BUT it is the manganese sulphide (MnS) that separates out and has the melting point of 1610 degrees C.

Although "separation" is OK, the correct term is "segregation" for a solid in a solid (precipitate is usually from a solution)
