Medical - Medical: Cardiology
Italian term or phrase: AMI-s su IVA
Part of the following sentence describing the operation(s) a patient had to have after suffering from heart problems.

" [...] era stato sottoposto ad intervento chirurgico con l’impianto di 3 by-pass aorto-coronarici + AMI-s su IVA e patch di vena safena sopra le due stenosi."

I don't have anything else in terms of context because there is just this one sentence in what is otherwise a law related document.
Thanks for any help.

OK no worries - having a bad hair day ;-) (fed up with translators accepting jobs they can't do - not you in this case - I've also had legal/admin stuff in medical translations I've had to ask help for :-) )

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks, I realise it has been asked but I couldn't understand the acronyms given as answers in the glossary! This sentence will be checked by a proof anyway but I wanted to know what it actually meant. Thanks for the answer and the link.

agree  Cedric Randolph: Yes, even though it's in the glossary, I wasn't able to find it and had to research it on the net just a couple of weeks ago.

And I almost forgot another very useful resource for Italian medical abbreviations -- where you would have found both AMIS and IVA:

http://www.gilbertolacchia.it/acromed.pdf

360 pages of abbreviations (some English as well) ... and it still doesn't cover everything; I hope he updates/expands it one of these days.
