Concerne un gruppo ottico per macrofotografia o stereomicroscopia dotato di un peculiare sistema di diffusione della luce.
L’analisi tridimensionale della topografia di oggetti viene normalmente affidata a strumenti quali gli stereomicroscopi.
Essenzialmente tali strumenti differiscono dai tradizionali microscopi biologici per il fatto che l’analisi ***non viene eseguita in trasparenza ma in riflessione***, permettendo una precisa percezione della profondità.

Use of reflected light from the object allows examination of specimens that would be too thick or otherwise opaque for compound microscopy.
