I'm looking for the proper term for this. I think it's when something appears in relief in relation to the rest of the painting. At the front of everything else.

Asker: Obrigada rir! Acho que é isto! Pensava que "affronted" queria dizer outra coisa, mas afinal também se usa neste caso.
