There are a lot of places and events where a translator can participate; from attending Chamber of Commerce and Branch industry conferences, receiving their newsletters to understand better their problematic, trends and needs. This does not concern "private" clients.
To most spontaneous methods of making new acquaintances. This concerns "private" clients.
And not only with "trying" to present yourself, but present yourself on all of these places.

So, my post is about "writing to potential DIRECT clients". If you feel that "private" clients will only do for you, this will narrow your category matters. When working for industry, or tertiary sector, or agriculture, the categories are quite large.
If I were to respond to all of those who have been flooding my inbox with CVs, I wouldn’t do anything else, as some days I’ve received over 40 emails. The number has been so huge that it prompted me to post this thread: https://www.proz.com/forum/business_issues/345976-cvs.html
