Conversion of "Trados 5" Memory (tmx Level 1 or txt) into a modern Format? Thread poster: Simona Romagnoli

I have some memories created with my old Trados 5 that I need to use now with OmegaT. A proZ member gave me the idea to use the free version of Xbench 2.9 which I used to import the trados files and to save them into a newer Xbench tmx-format (level 2 I suppose). (I remember for example that a trial version of MemoQ could read the old Memories directly, but the trial time in now expired...) Or is there a setting in Xbench that i don't know to preserve some memory attributes? ▲ Collapse | | | Jorge Payan Colombia Local time: 19:40 Member (2002) German to Spanish + ... Can you create a TMX file with it from a simple sample translation (nothing confidential) so that we can have a look at it? Perhaps it requires just a simple change to make it work in OmegaT. | | | BUT is it normal to loose in OmegaT all Memory Attributes ("creation date", etc.)? | Jun 13, 2016 |

Does that mean that OmegaT has no possibility to show you these details? Even if the memory is created by OmegaT himself? How do you handle this defect? Thank you Didier, I tried to customize the fuzzy matches pane, but 1) I can't find the variables creationID and creationDate as written in the manual (only the changedID, changedDate) 2) even if I choose them they don't appear later in the panel. I would like to insert a screen shot to show it but don't know how here at proZ... I recommend asking for help on the OmegaT Yahoo support group: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/OmegaT/info You would get a better support, you can upload pictures to the group, you can send your files privately to developers if needed. Hello Didier, I had some success and found finally the solution (I wrote the attributes myself in the pannel and it works) My biggest problem now is how to let appear the information of a memory created with another CAT. I will post the question in the yahoo forum as you suggested, it seem really to be the best way. Thank you for your help!
