Crucial question: is it worth doing an MA in Conf. Interp. and Translation (Bradford or Edimburgh) in English-French ? I imagine that the market is saturated with that combination and it'd set me back £10K, hence my hesitation. It's worth it, there are always opportunities for the so-called bilingual FR>E>FR booth. But once having passed your exams at e.g. Edinburgh, you would want to work as a professional (and not on the coloured market), otherwise it would not pay if you do not wish to work more than 30/40 days p.a.

Coloured market

Thanks for your help. BTW, how would you define the 'coloured market'? And why is it impossible in theory, as you say, to work between 30 and 50 paid days a year ? That's all I would like to do as I have another occupation.
