Otherwise the exercise time will quickly be swallowed up by other supposedly more pressing tasks.
I also try to make the exercise incidental so that I don't even have to find the time.
I realised that it takes the same length of time to cycle to visit my mother in her nearby care home as it does to drive. Bought the bike. It really isn't far, but that little bit of regular exercise has made a noticeable difference.

And I also remember a colleague's motto, to be repeated as you bend over to pick something up: instead of moaning about this, say "free gym". ▲ Collapse
I have never been a gym person, but I walk my daughter's dog 5 days a week morning and noon for at least half an hour each time. Isn't that enough exercise? | | | neilmac ספרד Local time: 01:22 מספרדית לאנגלית + ...
In between translating I do gardening or other household chores, which I consider exercise, for example chopping wood. I also take the dog for a run every day for at least half an hour, although usually I'm on my bicycle, but I occasionally just walk instead.
However, if the query refers to formal exercise, like people going to the gymare doing press ups or whatever, then I'm afraid I would need a personal trainer to encourage me.

I attend a salsa class once a week and adore it, as well as other salsa events and parties locally whenever they're on.
I garden vigorously from time to time - masses of bending, stretching and carting loads of weeds and foliage to the bin.
Also, I live in a house with lots of stairs and steps so I'm forever going up or down for something or other. Like Noni, I view this as "free gym".
But I hate the very notion of sweaty gym sessions in unbecoming garments. | | | Cycle around town | Oct 25, 2015 |
I try to get on the boneshaker as much as possible.
Other than that, I look forward to the ski slopes for a week or so during winter.
I started running in 2013 and have run three marathons, the next is in 3 weeks in Istanbul. Is anyone else here a runner in Barcelona?! I also want to get into lifting weights and yoga, but I struggle with the latter due to impatience. | | | Richard Jenkins ברזיל Local time: 20:22 חבר (2006) מפורטוגזית לאנגלית + ... I take the dog out for a walk in the evenings... he deserves it, good lad. And sometimes I do a bit of rowing on the machine in the public park.

it's about taking the time, making it a priority.

I couldn't be bothered with gyms and I don't like organized exercise nor sports, so I never considered myself to be a sporty person. At the same time, I've always been into incidental exercise, half-running everywhere, rushing up the stairs and doing all sorts of chores at an upbeat tempo, which has kept me more or less fit - the "free gym" was everywhere for me.

This year in March I started exercising regularly, thanks to my kids. They insisted that I take them to a swimming pool twice a week, and then it got off. Now I exercise every day (swimming pool or yoga), cycle or walk around the city and do a fair bit of "power gardening", which, apart from standard digging/carting biomass around, involves a lot of work with a pickaxe and a digging bar (yes, it's a peculiar garden).
I still try to turn as many things as possible into incidental exercise.
However, I still can't figure out how to do it with filling in the tax return forms. ▲ Collapse | | | As Noni said | Oct 25, 2015 |

I walk my two dogs twice a day, half an hour each time. For 10 years I also went to an exercise class twice a week. I've had several gym memberships but always ended up wasting my money. | | | Elías Sauza מקסיקו Local time: 17:22 חבר (2002) מאנגלית לספרדית + ...
Same as Noni, I make time. I used to do it in the late afternoon/evening, but work prevented me from doing it now and them. Now I do it at 5:30 am. No excuses anymore. | | | Mario Freitas ברזיל Local time: 20:22 חבר (2014) מאנגלית לפורטוגזית + ... I need intelligent persuasion | Oct 26, 2015 |
The arguments in the media have not convinced me that the gymnastics industry is not directed only to making money, like all the others. All this healthy talk has proven over the years to be a giant B.S.

Good luck if you are one more of the believers who think you'll live longer if you do gymnastics. ▲ Collapse | | | דפים בנושא: [1 2] > | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: Do you find time to exercise?
