Летом у нас книжная торговля в заторможенном состоянии, поэтому реальная информация по продажам еще отсутствует. Обычно активность появляется после Московской сентябрьской выставки.

The truth of the matter is that all the suggestions offered so far work fine, some better than others, but they all work. It's what you personally like better.

Seasonality slump

We could say "summer is a soft season for book sales" if euphemism is what we're after.

Otherwise, "slow season" would be possible.

Or, you could say "seasonal sales slump in the summertime".

Here's my source (besides the crap I write every day for my day job):

All the options I offered happen to be in this article by the way.

agree The Misha : I like this one best, they may want to use "in a seasonal slump", but that's the same thing

Thanks tatyana!
agree Mark Berelekhis : 'Our summer book sales are in a slump,' don't think 'seasonal' is even necessary.

neutral Polina Ustinova : очень верно, но текст оригинала несколько более разговорной стилистики, а стагнация всё-таки строгое слово)))))

In the summer, book sales are very flat

"flat" is a common euphemism for "low" in marketing jargon.

(ref) "Beer industry sales are very flat. Wine and spirits have gained." This past week, Anheuser-Busch said first-quarter net income fell about 7 percent to ...
Peer comment(s):

disagree Tevah_Trans : Sorry must disagree as flat is distinctly different; Market Research is a precise language, not jargon, either. "Very flat" is like "slightly pregnant" - impossible. Flat = unchanged vs. another period; declining = down vs. another period.
