agree PB Trans : See http://www.theglobeandmail.com/travel/stories/ROBMagazine/ai... This is another option to marbled foie gras (answer below), although I would be tempted to put marble in parentheses, i.e. "marble" of foie gras, as it's taken from the French marbré

neutral Wil Hardman (X) : Upon reflection including terrine in 'marble of foie gras' wouldn't work. It has to be either 'marbled foie gras terrine' or 'marble of foie gras' taken direct from the French- I still think English speakers would more likely understand the former

I beg to disagree with your disagree, but it is a matter of opinion

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks Adriana! I chose this without using "terrine" as it is not faithful to the original, which does mention terrine elsewhere in the menu (terrina). "

disagree Wil Hardman (X) : David, I think you need to include terrine, if you look at references, the ref you included from the UK had terrine on the end, whereas your first reference is a far from idiomatic translation

neutral Wil Hardman (X) : You are right it is a terrine, but I think it is refering to foie gras.. otherwise wouldn't it use higado?

Marbled duck foie gras terrine

The marbled refers to the effect produced in a terrine resulting from the pressed layers.
I urge other answerers to look at their references, which all seem to be from Spain or France, i.e. already translations.
The inclusion of 'terrine' is important and IMO English people would not understand the dish if terrine is not included.
Here are some references from the UK.
