Spanish term

períodos inferiores

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) a loan
Context: incluyendo balances y cuentas de resultados correspondientes a períodos inferiores al ejercicio económico

My problem is is this "inferior" for "anterior"
Thanks in advance

periods of less than one (fiscal/financial) year

Un ejercicio económico is a one-year period

Here "periods inferiores" means periods of less than one year.

i.e. including balance sheets and income staments for periods of less than one (fiscal/financial) year.

"My problem is is this "inferior" for "anterior"

I don't get this, are you saying you think it is an error and should say "anterior"? I see no evidence of that, although the CONTEXT is very sparse.
