Comment: "Perhaps I was being overly suspicious. The consensus view seems to be that ‘Schulung der Software’ in this context and as understood by the author means ‘training in the software’ rather than ‘training of the software’ - whatever that might have involved. Many thanks to all contributors."

Looking at the way this is split, this sounds like the sysadmin training needed to get the software installed and up and running, before you can start on the end-user training. But not well written if so.
