Change log

Jan 29, 2010 23:12: Gudrun Dauner changed "Term asked" from "Untersuchungsgefängnis des ministeriums für staattssicherheit" to "Untersuchungsgefängnis des Ministeriums für Staatssicherheit"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Richard Nice

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Denis Paolillo (asker) Jan 29, 2010:

It's on a Portuguese ~ English Berlim wall thing I'm working on.
philgoddard Jan 29, 2010:
Well, full marks for honesty! So you're asking us to do it for you?
Denis Paolillo (asker) Jan 29, 2010:
None so far. Thanks
philgoddard Jan 29, 2010:
Could you tell us what research you've done already, so we're not duplicating anything?

remand prison of the East German Ministry of State Security

The Ministry for State Security, (German: Ministerium für Staatssicherheit, commonly known as the Stasi (IPA: [ˈʃtaziː]) (abbreviation German: Staatssicherheit, literally State Security), was the official state security service of East Germany.

Impressions from a visit to the former GDR State Security Remand Prison at Berlin-Hohenschönhausen. The site is now a Memorial.

The complex was used as the main remand prison by the former East German Ministry of State Security (MfS), or "Stasi" (short for Staatssicherheit) mostly for political prisoners. It was located inside a larger off-limits area that was not even shown on the street maps.
