Spanish term

botar al monte

The text is from Colombia. My ideas are along the lines of dump/throw away/throw on the ground. I understand botar as dump however i'm usnure as to how to translate "al monte". Thanks for your help.

trash/rubbish is dumped in the countryside / on the ground

Trash if it's for US, rubbish for UK.

Since you're already on a path, then perhaps you don't need to specify countryside and can just say the ground.
Note from asker:
Thanks, yes the whole text is about a rural area so "on the ground" should work.

dump to the bushes

I think you are right, dump is the best solution when dealing with throwing away the rubbish.

dump/litter in the field/nature/environment
