Yo siempre utilizo "endurecer" o "endurecimiento" de la política monetaria, es decir, subir los tipos de interés. En el contexto de tu frase, ya que hablan de "quantitative easing", yo lo formularía del siguiente modo:
"...para endurecer sus políticas (aunque sí están reduciendo sus medidas de expansión monetaria cuantitativa)"
También puedes evitar la traducción literal del término diciendo "subir los tipos de interés" (o incluso "elevar el precio del dinero" para no evitar repeticiones más tarde cuando se habla de los emergentes).

También puedes evitar la traducción literal del término diciendo "subir los tipos de interés" (o incluso "elevar el precio del dinero" para no evitar repeticiones más tarde cuando se habla de los emergentes).
