I get that they mean some kind of approximative language, but what does c.d.f stand for? Here is the context:

comprendere may be either included or understood depending on wider context.
My main doubt, apart from the fact that "concetti di fondo" is a bit of a guess, is that I would expect "da" rather than "di" if my translation were right, but I hope this helps in some way
