This is from a Spanish academic article on Baroque painting and representations of the crucifixion. The author wants US English. In this section it says:
Las evidentes limitaciones que XXXX tenía, sus dificultades para componer, su falta de imaginación, su torpeza con el dibujo y con la perspectiva, todas esas limitaciones quedan vencidas por la tactilidad extraordinaria de las cosas que pinta, sean cacharros de cocina, tejidos o cuerpos. El Cristo de San Pablo es como ese bodegón de Barcelona: madera, piel y tejido exasperados.
I have seen this translated as exasperated, but I'm not sure it works here. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you!
