German term

Serontonin4-Agonismus

German to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals summary of product characteristics
Hallo ProZ-Profis!

"Metoclopramide is a central dopamine-2 and serotonin-3 antagonist. In addition, it has demonstrated peripheral serotonin-4 agonism."

Vielen Dank!

agonism = agony HAHA Thank you very much lirka and SJLD!!
Lirka Jan 21, 2012:
Agony... Really, not "agonism"! With SJLD on that.
SJLD Jan 21, 2012:
Definitely not "serotonin-4 agonism".
Agonism is OK but I don't like it much. C.f. (dopamine) antagonism
Try with "serotonin-4 receptor agonist" or more likely "5-HT4 receptor agonist" properties.

Metoclopramide. Metoclopramide also has 5-HT3-receptor antagonist and some 5-HT4-receptor agonist properties in addition to it antagonism of dopamine.
