Spanish term

bayo chileno

Spanish to English Other Food & Drink grain varieties
This term comes from a list of different types of beans. It is a coloured bean as its name suggests, but what about "chileno"?
I 'm still looking for an exact equivalent. I think one possibility is to translate it as "light red bean".

Thanks.

The cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.) is an annual herbaceous legume. It may be climbing, erect as well as prostrate and creeping depending on the cultivar (5 cultivars are known). It can grow up to 80 cm (2 m for climbing cultivar). It has a well developed root-system. Leaves are trifoliate, leaflets are oval, 6-15 cm long and 4-11 cm broad. Flowers are papillonaceous colour ranging from white, yellowish, pale blue to violet. Flowers are distributed along axillary clusters. Pods occur in pairs forming a V, mostly pending vertical but also can be erect. Pods are cylindrical, 6 to 2 cm long and 3-12 mm broad. They contain 8 to 20 seeds and are indehiscent. Seeds colours vary from white, pink, brown, black. Because the hylum is often ringed black or brown, the cowpea also called “black-eyed pea”.
