nuanced sound

For me, this has the sound of a high fidelity brochure – you get to hear the "fine" nuances. I could also go along with the "refinement" that was mentioned in the discussion of "elegance".

elegance

Not necessary to translate the '-klang' suffix here, IMO, as the context makes it clear.
Save 'smooth' for Mantovani.

agree franglish : refinement may also work

delicate sounds (of Baroque music)

Example below:

"Listeners' ears are becoming reoriented to the subtle, delicate sounds of Baroque and Classic music played on long-vanished instruments."
Peer comment(s):

neutral Lancashireman : Delicate? See source text: "JS BACH Matthäus-Passion BWV 244"

neutral Helen Shiner : With Andrew; I don't think delicate is right for the genre.

agree Klaus Schmirler : I don't think it is so bad at all in the context of authentic instruments. Their sound is delicate as opposed to "in-your-face" (the direction instrument making took from the Romantic era on).

Feinklang

"Feinklang. its basically a German word play. The word itself does not exist, however, everybody understands it (its "fine sound" if you translate it). Its basically a neologism created from the word "Einklang" (translated: Accord/tune/unison) combined with the word "fein" (translated: fine). "
