Spanish term

pilladera

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks
"Mejoraria las pilladeras que son muy altas ,los estribos, y la trompa tiene demasiado plastico."

I have no idea what "pilladeras" refer to in a car. This is for Argentina.

Thanks in advance!

pisadera

I would guess from context that this is a mistake in the source text and that it is supposed to read 'pisadera,' meaning the narrow step at the entrance to an SUV or truck. We call the step a running board in US English. It would then be logical that the running boards are too high; i.e. it is too hard to step up onto them and into the vehicle.

agree philgoddard : Yes, probably. Some manufacturers call them door sills.

agree Helena Chavarria : Yes, I thought it referred to where you 'pillas el coche' but I wasn't quite sure what it was called in English.
