Following the end of the Napoleonic wars in 1815, Europe was open to
travellers once more. Horizons were expanded, new sources of inspiration
sought. Though the economic climate remained harsh for a number of years, the grand tour was revived for the wealthy. On the banqueting
tables of the Prince Regent in Brighton, the Russian Tsar in St Petersburg
and those of the Rothschilds in Paris, the fabulous iced confectionery
centrepieces created by the French chef Antonin Carême now glittered in
the shape of Egyptian monuments, classical temples, rustic cottages and
Tuscan ruins. Letter shapes too were reinvented in a similar profusion of
eye-catching ancient and rustic disguises.

Sono proposte ovviamente non fedeli all'originale, che nascono dalla lettura del testo riportato.
Perché non colgo allusioni a luna park et similia, se non come idea di qualcosa di scatenato, eccessivo, rutilante...
"A ruota libera"si riferisce un po' a tutto: alla libertà di viaggiare, ai centrotavola esagerati e ai font arzigogolati.
"Nessun limite, nessun confine" viene più che altro da: "Europe was open to travellers once more. Horizons were expanded, new sources of inspiration sought." Però in senso lato si presta anche a indicare l'eccesso estetico e decorativo, IMHO...
Perché non colgo allusioni a luna park et similia, se non come idea di qualcosa di scatenato, eccessivo, rutilante...
"A ruota libera"si riferisce un po' a tutto: alla libertà di viaggiare, ai centrotavola esagerati e ai font arzigogolati.
"Nessun limite, nessun confine" viene più che altro da: "Europe was open to travellers once more. Horizons were expanded, new sources of inspiration sought." Però in senso lato si presta anche a indicare l'eccesso estetico e decorativo, IMHO...

a tutta birra
più che divertimento qui mi sembra più una spinta in avanti anche verso soluzioni artistiche innovative.... non so mi dà più l'idea di uno sviluppo che di un divertimento vero e proprio

un immenso parco divertimenti/un immenso luna park/venghino signori, venghino!
Io giocherei sul fatto che "funfair" è parco divertimenti/luna park e che come si dice nel testo dopo il 1815 l'Europa era in grado di offrire grandi fonti di ispirazione in tutti i campi descritti, proprio come fa un luna park, che offre divertimenti di ogni tipo.
Se poi il testo è abbastanza informale e te lo puoi permettere, potresti usare il classico "venghino signori, venghino" del circo! :)
