shot
It's a common expression for 'shot'. Like: I was prescribed a penicillin shot.
Note from asker:
The whole point is that "pinchazos" are not unpleasant! Shots, needle sticks and punctures are VERY unpleasant, don't you think! |

injection
if you want to be formal. Not to be confused with a shot or bullet wound although we do say "I was given a shot of penicillin".

The idea of what is unpleasant in this case is somewhat subjective. Some children cry when they are vaccinated, others don´t.

: pinprick if you refer what diabetics go through when pinching their fingers for the blood test.

Thanks, Phoenix III! I wasn´t thinking of diabetics, when pricking is something more serious, but of pinpricks in general!

: All the evidence does not point this answer at all. Do you know the Spanish definition of this word "pinchazo"?

: No Spanish person would say their sprained ankle, cut finger or broken toe is a "pinchazo" - where do you get this from??

I'll suggest you study the english meaning of minor injuries first then advice if a broken toe fits in.Yes! I'll say minor bone fracture, sprained ankle, cut finger, muscle tear are minor injuries and in Spain here we say un pinchazo nada mas.Cheers!!!

1. m. Acción y efecto de pinchar o pincharse.
2. m. punzada (‖ dolor agudo). Sintió un pinchazo en la muela del juicio.
3. m. Taurom. Herida poco profunda que el diestro produce en el toro con el estoque al no lograr clavarlo lo suficiente.
A "pinchazo" usually means a "shooting pain" - but here, as it states that they're referring to something similar, but which doesn't qualify as "pain", I think we'd probably say something like "twinge".
