the representation includes one or more probability values at corresponding inter-arrival time points, at least one slope of the cumulative distribution function, one or more steep events in the cumulative distribution function, or a probability density function range.

Figure 15A illustrâtes a third embodiment of packet inter-arrival time statistics représentation - steep event représentation. Considering most packet inter-arrival time in a CDF curve is flat, those slope values would be close to zéro and are redundant représentation. On the other hand, steep information is very important for determining RRC transition and DRX configuration. Steep information could show burst traffic. A steep event always has a large differential value and the differential calculus can be performed with a small fixed x-axis (e.g., 10ms). The steep event can be specified by eNB using différent methods. In a first example (EA), eNB provides a steep threshold. If the differential value is above the threshold, then UE represents that point with its packet inter-arrival time and probability.
