Discussion

Andre de Vries (asker) Jan 14, 2018:
fluids I can't comment on the fluides.
Tony M Jan 10, 2018:
@ Phil In technical FR, 'fluides' includes gas and electricity (as well as things like compressed air, vacuum, etc.)
philgoddard Jan 9, 2018:
They've already said "eau" and "égouts", so why do they say "fluides"?
Larousse says it simply means "water supply": http://www.larousse.fr/dictionnaires/francais/amenée/2793

Thanks AT. This is about works from the existing mains/networks up to either the boundary or the meter (though meters in France are now generally installed at the boundary), so not the actual connection on the client side of the meter.

French term (edited): travaux d’amenées de fluides

connecting the utilities (US English)

Une amenée is a standard French word for gas, electric, etc. supply point. (You can see pictures in the Oxford Duden Pictorial French-English Dictionary.)
Peer comment(s):

neutral philgoddard : But what about "fluides"?
30 mins
neutral mchd : une amenée, c'est une "tranchée" pour amener/l'alimentation en eau, gaz, électricité et c'est différent d'un raccordement

neutral Tony M : I agree with mchd: this is an earlier stage than connecting up, this is actually bringing in the feeds.

Peer comment(s):

disagree Tony M : Only applicable in that one quite narrow context, would certainly not apply in Asker's context here.

disagree Daryo : you can't reduce a very broad category to just one spare part - unless some MT told you so?

disagree AllegroTrans : Agree with both above comments
