: Hi Meridy. No, "activa" and "pasiva" don't refer to positive and negative easements, but instead to dominant and servient ones. Take a look at Pat's and Charles' answers in the previous question cited by Taña above. Saludos!

Is there a reason for using the different terms 'a favor de' and 'a cargo de' , which you all seem to agree mean the same thing ('on behalf of')?
