Change log

May 15, 2019 09:34: changed "Kudoz queue" from "In queue" to "Public"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Shabelula

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

specific and unique service offers

"differentiated" somehow doesn't do the trick for me and I don't think the word would be used in sales hype; "unique" or "tailor-made" is the sort of term I would expect to see
Peer comment(s):

agree Julie Barber : I'm voting for unique rather than tailor-made

diversified services

also: various, personalised, vary, diverse
Peer comment(s):

disagree Julie Barber : It is the opposite, it is when you offer unique services. Also, various and personalised aren't the same suggestion

disagree Eliza Hall : Yes, this isn't about having a wide range of services on offer, but about having services that are differentiated from those offered by competitors.

Differentiating service offers

This is when you offer services that make you stand out from your competitors:

Differentiation is a basic business and marketing strategy, by which a company focuses on distinct differences in its offering to customers as the basis for establishing a competitive advantage. For service-oriented businesses, you can focus on quality differentiation as a strategy to attract and retain core customers.

Competitive differentiation is a strategic positioning tactic an organization can undertake to set its products, services and brands apart from those of its competitors.

In order to make an offering compelling in the marketplace, an organization must clearly articulate to consumers the benefits of a product, service or brand and contrast its unique qualities with other competing products.

Thanks FB
neutral Eliza Hall : You're right about the concept but this wouldn't work in the sentence. These service offers are differentiaTED (from others on the market).

Thanks Eliza. I did notice that the sentence would need to be reordered, however, the actual question was written this way
neutral AllegroTrans : The use of this verb form deosn't sit comfortably

I know what you mean, even though I think that it's an option
