SPAIN. This term appears in an alphabetical list of official and/or semi-official entities or names. I'm puzzled as to the exact meaning of "marca" in this context.

To me it sounds like a very ambiguous wording for an official stamp/mark of quality (almost as if the writer didn´t know what the official body was really called). This would make sense looking at the other entries.

@phil Yes. The alphabetical lists tend to be from the same client. They are, or will be, software strings. The rest of the items in the list mostly referred to official or quasi-official bodies in different countries.

Is this from the same source as your weird units of measurement? It looks like something has got lost in translation here, too - perhaps it's MT.

I know that "marca" often translates as "brand", but this seems a rather odd usage, and the lack of context is far from reassuring.
