Maybe there is jargon to describe this but I can't find it. i do think that this is what they mean however as these coils would be easier to unwind and would not tend to go back to their original shape after unwinding as much as small diameter coils

Ribbon wound steel strapping
Each layer of ribbon wound steel strapping is wound directly over the one below, like ribbon or tape, so that the width of the steel strap is the width of the coil itself. Ribbon wound steel strapping coils contain less metal strap than oscillation wound and are therefore lighter, easier to handle and suited to low to medium volume use.
