WHAT IS CELLULITE?

This is a very common aesthetic problem, particularly in females, affecting the thighs, legs, knees, lower back and buttocks.

Scientifically defined as***** PEFS (Panniculopathic – Edematous – Fibro – Sclerosis),***** is not simply an accumulation of fat, but is caused by an inflammatory processes affecting adipose and interstitial tissues, and blood vessels and lymphatics; these inflammatory processes give rise to the formation of branches of fibrous tissue that, on crossing the adipose tissue, form a characteristic “orange peel” appearance.
