The invention relates to a method for generating a teaching data set for determining a dynamic weight value from a dynamic weight curve recorded in a normal operating mode of a band weighing device, in particular a dynamic checkweigher, during a dynamic weighing of an article, wherein in a teach-in mode several, each consisting of individual measured values existing dynamic weight curves and based on a comparison of the several weight curves with each other at least one time window is determined, which either determines which of the individual measured values of a recorded in the normal mode of operation dynamic weighting the determination of a dynamic weight value are based, or vice versa determines which these individual measured values of this determination are not based on, wherein the one or more time windows are stored in the teach record.
