Arabic term

بين الصورة المرئية واللامرئية

Arabic to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation Football
Hi guys,

I'm translating an article about the similarities and differences between football and writing. Here's the full context:
من الخارج، ترى ملعبًا ولاعبين ومحكمين. أما واقعًا، فيشارك فيها زعماء وسياسيون ورجال المافيا والأثرياء… وبين الصورة المرئية واللامرئية، لا ننتظر نحن سوى بهجة عابرة يقدمها لنا أبطال يركضون من دول العالم كله خلف طابة واحدة.

For the moment, I've translated this phrase as "whether or not we are seeing the whole picture". I think the phrase is alluding to the fact that there may be questionable things happening in the background of the football world, and some people are uncomfortable with the amount of money pumped into it, but at the end of the day, if you're a football fan, you're willing to overlook those things.

Draft translation:
...but in reality, there are many more people involved: world leaders and politicians, mobsters and the wealthy... and whether or not we are seeing the whole picture, all we really care about is that fleeting joy offered to us by heroes from around the world, running behind a single ball.

Have I got the right idea? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Regardless of what takes place behind the scenes, however...

Another way to put it.

agree Abd Alrahman Almidani : I agree with "apparent" because it refers to things that are clear to the mind and the eye.

And whether we know the whole picture or not ...

You're right. The writer is alluding to what we see as an audience, and what goes on behind the scenes.

between the conspicuous and the obscure

I'd say I'd personally skip "image" altogether. If it's perceived visually, it's obviously an image.

'between what meets the eye and what happens behind the scenes', although this is anything but concise.
