MAR defines information that would be likely to have a significant effect on price as being information a reasonable investor would be likely to use as part of the basis for his or her investment decision, i.e. whether the information is information a reasonable investor would be likely to use as part of the basis of his or her investment decisions. Information should be considered to be ‘likely’ to have a significant effect on price if there is a more than fanciful prospect of the information having such an effect.
