English term

more concerned with the study of disease than with its cure

English to Chinese Social Sciences History Intellectual History
Hippocrates knew he knew very little about disease, but that little he wished to know carefully and systematically. He held that nature tends to re-establish in the patient the equilibrium we call health. He was skeptical about medicines, especially medicines tied up with big theories about health and disease. Therefore, as a physician, his great axiom was "do no harm"; make the patient comfortable, and let nature get in its healing work. Some of his contempories thought he was rather heartless, more concerned with the study of disease than with its cure, but Hippocrates has come to be admired as the real founder of medical science. Even today, our physicians repeat the celebrated summary of the ethics of the profession, the "Hippocratic oath," though that oath is almost certainly from a later period.

Oze, should be the right phrasing.
Betty, I think, you are right about the following text.
Hippocrates doesn't believe in curing diseases by any unfounded medicines.
That "do no harm" could be the key to solving my problem with a proper interpretation.
