Farbe und Umwelt

German to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
IACC International Association of Colour Consultants
sponsored ein Seminar, u.a.
"Systematisches Gestalten mit Farbe in der Umwelt"

I believe that this is AMBIENCE rather than ENVIRONMENT which is such an abused word these days. My
temporary rendition is "systematic composing with color in the ambience".
Any takers or proponents of a better solution? Thanks.

correction: as much mythical as real.
Non-ProZ.com Feb 14, 2005:
Ambiance or Ambience, I know. What I am more interested in is the actual rendition of what, in the context at hand, is as much "mythical" and "real".
If you care to look up www.bef-IACC.org you will possibly see what I mean.
Lancashireman Feb 14, 2005:
'ambience' seems to be the buzz word for the sound environment at the moment (Ibiza Scene) but it could be appropriate for the notion of one's surroundings creating a mood
Will Matter Feb 14, 2005:
Also spelled "Ambiance".

systematic composition with ambient colour

Avoids using the noun 'ambience'. The sort of person reading this is not going to have any problem with the concept of 'ambience' or 'ambient'

systematic use of color in the living sphere

this may correspond more closely to environment, which is material whereas ambience isn't. anyway, it's a suggestion
