English term

upsell the customer on

English Marketing Marketing
"The XXX Client includes 2 licenses of ZZZ developer toolkit and the opportunity here is ***to upsell the customer on purchasing runtime licenses*** to deploy for end user access."

...the preposition "on" leaves me puzzled, is it correct? does it mean that the upselling consists on the customer's purchasing runtime licenses?

\"at the point of purchase ask people to buy more\" is how one Internet site puts it.
Simply put, the attempt to sell customer other items than the ones he/she originally wanted to buy.
