Danish term

fast driftssted

Danish to English Bus/Financial Law (general)
A "fast driftssted" would ordinarily be considered to be a fixed place of business. However as a legal definition of fast driftssted, one doesn't need actually a fixed location, it refers more to the fact that >somewhere< in the country the enterprise operates. In US law, we would refer to this as "presence." However when used in the Danish and/or European sense, I am not certain the use of the word “presence” would be understood.

Any comments? (or suggestions for a better term)

presence or physical presence

I am fairly confident that "fast driftssted" is equivalent to Am.Eng. presence or physical presence.
The Danish website referenced defines "fast driftssted".
The US website gives numerous examples of "presence" and "physical presence".
So in my opinion your first hunch was right.
